WELCOME
TO
ST LAWRENCE

Our regular services at 9am are Morning Prayer (Common Worship) on the second Sunday and Holy Communion (BCP) on the fourth Sunday of the month. There are extra services for festivals such as Easter, Christmas and Harvest. Our popular service of thanksgiving for animals is to become an annual event.

The church, dedicated to St Lawrence, stands on high ground to the southern end of the village.
The church dates back to the 12th century and was “modernised” by William Butterfield, most distinguished architect of the Oxford Movement in 1851.
Fragments of 14th century glass can be seen in the window beside the organ and in the north window of the chancel.
The tower was built in three stages, the last, the bell chamber, having traces of 14th century work.
There are two bells in the tower, the smaller dated 1672 and the larger 1740.
