About Us

The church, with its tower, was built in the thirteenth century.  It is quite large with nave, chancel, a north aisle and a south porch.  The upper windows and the large one on the south side are fifteenth century.

There is a fine tomb of Franklin: they were land-owners of free but not noble birth

The stained glass medallions in the main south window and the glass in the three windows on the north side are all good.  Within the glass in the north-east window is the head of Christ: this may have come from the chapel in the house built by the Sheldons in Weston Park in 1588 but now no more.  The splendid front of the high altar came from the reredos of that chapel.

The tower has a fine ring of six bells, from 1742, 1842 and 2006 and recently re-hung after a village appeal.
